I'd like to get a second look on this as a matter of course (I don't know western North American butterflies very well at all). in addition, I'm not sure that the status of globally Vulnerable per the Red List will be applied to the subspecies, since it did not have that rank when it was assessed (I think the conservation status is pulled automatically).

FWIW, https://www.butterfliesofamerica.com/L/Nymphalidae.htm treats it as a subspecies, so that'd be this one as invalid.
