I am not sure how this error occurred, as T. lateralis is one of the commonest tetrigidae in iNat

Apparently, it was an automatic change that modified the name and moved the species out of the Complex Tettigidea lateralis: https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/207544/history

Very unusual. Is it possible to fix it?

The taxon has been grafted back into the Complex Tettigidea lateralis. But the name cannot be edited back, so a taxon swap is required. I drafted the swap: https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_changes/133376

Hmm, so so weird. Swap seems like a good idea. Do you know what make this automatic change happen & should we expect more of it?

I'm not sure. Is it possible it is related to an update of the Taxon framework relationship ID in Orthoptera? @loarie

It looks like OSF is taking a more proactive approach to Orthopteran taxonomy when they transitioned into their site. Because it seemed like before, the taxonomy was whatever the latest authority said. Now it seems like they're making decisions based on who's more credible. I did fix a bunch of flags earlier of people asking why we didn't OSF, and to which I would post the archive link showing that at the time, we did.

It is still according to what latest taxonomic change was, but there might be some errors due to the transfer to another site. However, I didn't see Tettigidea laterale problem there.
