As a specialist in the family, I have always read that Lachnanthes caroliana, although the originally published name (as Dilatris caroliana Lam.), has been considered a misspelling and can be automatically corrrected as a typographical or orthographical error (Article 60 of the ICN: https://www.iapt-taxon.org/nomen/pages/main/art_60.html). I suppose this is a matter of opinion. I'll consult an expert in the Code.
The species name has been updated to L. caroliana. I've reached out to Kew and the Internantional Plant Names Index and they have confirmed it. I've been slowly updating sites such as Wikipedia as well. Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks! -Leif
