yes, created for pragmatic reason before the implementation of sectons within the genus.
Now to be merged wthin sectin Thuringiaca, but not technically available during the taxonomic update until 6th of May...

There are so many moves involved in this change... thousands. Moving Carex Flacca out of the complex was the last change I committed before the CNC lock, so it had not finished re-indexing and I couldn't see who I needed to tag to fix the complex IDs until the re-indexing was finished. I will tag people in observations to try to get as many of the ~100 IDs affected changed before the swap is committed.
Not sure it really matters. The complex wasadded in order to enlarge C. flacca s.l. an subspecies.
But if you prefer we could swap with subgenus (Carex) !
Hopefully there won't be many observations left in the clade either way. I will delete the name also either way.
Yes it is being dissolved per the agreement in https://www.inaturalist.org/flags/623066 but I was giving a grace period for people to move their IDs back to section and we are in the city nature challenge lock-out period now.
