Distinguishing Features 6

Woodchucks resemble large ground squirrels, that differ from their close relatives, Hoary Marmots, by being a frosted brown or red- dish-blonde colour, rather than shades of grey and black. They are usually found at low elevations in well-drained open land; roadside meadows and elds are favourite spots.

Habitat 6

Open forests, meadows, and road embankments.
