Camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora L), a broad leaved evergreen tree within the Lauraceae family, native to China and Japan, is now cultivated in many countries as an ornamental plant or as a source of camphor. The species is also considered as a medicinal plant in
the treatment of muscular strains, inflammation, and rheumatic conditions and has antiseptic properties.
