Description ²

• Flower: White simple shaped, 4 petals
• Leaves: whorled arrangement, 4 per whorl, ¼ to ¾ inch long, 1/8 inch wide or less, blunt tip and prominent center vein, short hairs around edges and sometimes along central vein on underside, curve or bend downward soon after emerging
• Fruit/Seed: pair of smooth round capsules, 1/16 inch diameter
• Height: 4-16 inches
• Flowering: June - July
• Habitat: fens, swamps, cold bogs, wet meadows, moist thickets
