Shape: Bramble
Leaf/Branch Arrangement: Alternate
Flower: White simple shaped, 5 petals
Leaves: palmately compound, 3-5 leaflets, leaflets up to 4 inches long and 3 inches wide, doubly toothed, hairy on the underside
Bark: brown with straight-curved prickles
Fruit/Seed: round clustered berry, ½-3/4 inch diameter, red-black
Height: 3-6 feet
Habitat: prairie edges, woodlands, thickets, savannas, woodland meadows, limestone glades, fence rows, roadsides, railroads, abandoned pastures
