• Shape: Multi-stemmed shrub
• Leaf/Branch Arrangement: Opposite
• Flower: Yellow-white bell shaped
• Leaves: oval, rounded tip, ¾-2 ½ inches long, 1 inch wide, edges fringed with fined hairs
• Bark: brown/grey, peeling in strips
• Fruit/Seed: oblong berry, blue/black, 3/8 inch long
• Height: 1-5 feet
• Flowering: May - Jun
• Habitat: swamps, fens, woods, thickets
