Shape: Multi-stemmed shrub
Leaf/Branch Arrangement: Opposite
Flower: White rounded cluster
Leaves: oval with pointed tip, prominent veins that never reach leaf’s edge, 2-4 inches long and 1-3 inches wide
Bark: smooth, reddish green during growing season, deep red during dormant season
Fruit/Seed: cluster of ¼ inch, white, round, berries
Height: 3-8 feet
Flowering: May - August
Habitat: open wetlands
