Description ²

• Shape: Multi-stemmed shrub
• Leaf/Branch Arrangement: Opposite
• Flower: White rounded cluster
• Leaves: oval with pointed tip, prominent veins that never reach leaf’s edge, 2-4 inches long and 1-3 inches wide
• Bark: smooth, reddish green during growing season, deep red during dormant season
• Fruit/Seed: cluster of ¼ inch, white, round, berries
• Height: 3-8 feet
• Flowering: May - August
• Habitat: open wetlands
