Grows in central Chile, can be found in the Andes
Tolerates low temperatures and heavy winds
Reaches heights of 50 meters and more than 2 meters (6.5 feet) in diameter
Straight and cylindrical trunk with grey bark
Wood is very valuable, used to produce fancy furniture (known as the "green gold")
Wood is pinkish with brown-reddish color and has a very fine grain
