Identification 2
All rana frogs are difficult to discern among each other species and you need some practice and experience to be sure to identify them properly as increment deifferences in coloration and bulbs on hind legs make all the difference. That would require you to catch them and examine them up close, which is ilegal in czech republic. Thus I discourage from identifying adult frogs.
Rather their egg clutches are far easier to discern as they form alrge patches in shallow water and can fuse with other clutces as they are forms of multiple eggs rather than clutches.

Ecology and behaviour 2
Commonly found in early spring they are the only unprotected amphibian species living in Czechia. As the adults live similar lifestyle to other Rana frogs they are rarely seen, but inhabit mostly woodlands, where they seek shelter from the days sun and heat. The woodland with proximity to water bodies uninhabited by fish is scarcer still, but one can find them in hot days to be siting in puddles or small streams.
Identifikace 2
Skokani hnědí jsou naší nejběžnější žábou. Rozeznatelní především podle břišní strany těla, kde se nachází velké množství tmavých skvrn, a malého patního výrústku na zadních nohou. Samci zřídka v našich podmínkách také nabývají modré barvy. Rozeznávání našich druhů hnědých skokanů je však obtížné a i zkušení odborníci občas u některých jedinců tápou. Naopak velmi dobře se rozeznávají jejich snůšky, kdy skokani hnědí začínají klást na jaře snůšky volně do mělkých nádrží bez rybí osádky. Při doteku se snůšky snadno rozpadají na jednotlivá vejce narozdíl od skokanů ostronosých. Snůšky se často spojují se snůškami ostatních samců a vytváří tak velké polštáře.
