Green Toad

Identification 2
Although the name suggests a colour disparity between this and other toads, it is not what you might think. The green toad is characterised by spots of green-brown colour surrounded by white background creating a web of white or green lines between the dark islands, which sometimes less visible are always noticeable on legs. You could argue the animal to be distinguishable by sound https://temata.rozhlas.cz/ropucha-zelena-7946533#player=on , but this can be missinterpreted as the sound is similar to many other animals nad without proper experience it would missleading to claim otherwise.
Ecology & Behaviour 2
The toad likes warmth and so it tends to clear of mountain ranges and high altitudes. Other than that, it thrives in exposed temporal/permanent pools with or without vegetation. It's somewhat hard to find given the fast metamorphosis the larvae undergo in warm environments.
Identifikace (CZ) 2
Přestože jméno by mohlo napovídat zelenou barvu. Toto zbarvení je specifické spíše svou bílou částí. Rozumějme, že na rozdíl od ropuch obecných se ropucha zelená vyznačuje bílou mapou kolem ostrůvků zelené barvy na svém těle. Někdy toto zbarvení lze pozorovat pouze na končetinách. Charakteristický je pro ropuchu zelenou také zvuk, který vydává :https://temata.rozhlas.cz/ropucha-zelena-7946533#player=on Ten si lze však splést se zvuky jiných živočichů a nezkušeným badatelům tuto metodu tedy nedoporučuji. Stejnětak snůšky jsou pouze rozeznatelné od jiných druhů žab a nikoliv ropuch.
