Macrodiplosis

Note 2

A genus likely to include many gallformers on many oak species, which at the moment remain largely undescribed. The woolly galls ("Macrodiplosis niveipila") are likely often confused with Callirhytis lanata and others, but are distinguished by long, linear galls and especially by the fact that they are split open along the vein above. Associated with leaf deformation far more often than any woolly cynipid gall. Host list almost certainly incomplete.
