Riassunto ²

Il cigno nero (Cygnus atratus Latham, 1790 - raramente riportato anche come Chenopis atrata o Cygnus chenopsis atratus), è un uccello acquatico, della famiglia Anatidae, sottofamiglia Anserinae, tribù Anserini e genere Cygnus. Divenne noto al mondo occidentale solo in seguito al 1697, anno in cui venne scoperto nel continente australiano ad opera di Willem de Vlamingh.
