Verwandt mit Pyrops baculus Gerst. (Mitt. des natur- wissenschaftlichen Vereins für Neu-Vorpommern und Rügen XXIII. 1895 S. 2).
Von Baeules durch die Grüße, die Färbung, die Anzahl
der Hinterschienendornen und die Kopffortsatzbildung ver- schieden. Der Kopffortsatz ist seitlich flach, zur Spitze sich verjüngend geht er allmählich in die Keule über; die Scheitel- kiele sind in der Basalhälfte nicht so scharf und wellig gezackt wie in der Endhälfte, der Mittelkiel erlischt kurz vor der Spitze; die Stirnkiele sind wie die Scheitelkiele auch in der Basalhälfte dentlich. - was bei Buculus nicht der Fall ist und der Mittelkiel erlischt vor dem Endfünftel; die Färbung ist blutrot, das Kopffortsatz-Mitteldrittel ist mit zahlreicheren und größeren schwarzen Flecken besetzt wie der übrige Teil: die löffelförmige Endfläche ist flach, trägt in der Mitte einen großen, schwarzen Fleck und in der Unterhälfte einen dent- lichen Kiel. Clipens scherbengelb, die ganze Fläche schwarz punktiert. Augen braun, schwarz gefleckt; zweites Fühlerglied rotbraun; Ocellen glashell. Pronotum blutrot, ohne Furche mit zwei gelben Punktgruben und vielen runden, schwarzen Flecken auf der Scheibe; die Brustlappen tragen am Rande größere und schwarze Flecke. Schildchen gelbbraun mit ein- zelnen, kleinen, rundlichen, schwarzen Flecken auf der Scheibe. Deckflügel blutrot, zum Apicalteil heller werdend mit vielen
Pusteln und schwarzen Flecken, welche im Apicalteil und vor
dem Wurzeldrittel häufiger sind. Flügel hyalin mit gelben
Nerven, das Basalfeld ist milchweiß- und das Apicalfeld gran
getrübt. Rückensegmente des Hinterleibes schwarz mit gelb-
lichen Hinterrändern; die Bauchsegmente schwarz mit gelben
Hinterrändern und an den Seiten scherbengelb mit schwarzen
Punkten. Brust und Beine scherbengelb, schwarz gefleckt.
Hinterschienen mit vier Dornen. Anallappen schwarz; Schei-
denpolster gelbbraun mit schwarzem Fleck.
Länge 42 mm, von der Kopffortsatzspitze bis zum Hinter- leibsende 36 mm, des Kopffortsatzes 16 mm, Spannweite 53 mm.
West-Afrika: Liberia (Schweizer). (Type im Stettiner Museum.)
Diese Art benenne ich nach ihrem Sammler und Ent-
decker Herrn Schweizer.

From Baeules by the greetings, the coloring, the number
of the posterior tibial spines and the formation of the head process differ. The head process is laterally flat, tapering towards the tip, gradually merging into the club; the apex keels are not as sharp and wavy in the basal half as in the terminal half, the middle keel disappears just before the tip; the forehead keels are similar to the parietal keels in the basal half. - which is not the case with Buculus and the middle keel goes out before the final fifth; the coloring is blood-red, the middle third of the head process is covered with more numerous and larger black spots than the rest of the part: the spoon-shaped terminal surface is flat, bears a large black spot in the middle and a distinct keel in the lower half. Clipens shard yellow, the whole surface dotted with black. eyes brown, mottled with black; second antennal segment reddish brown; Ocelli clear as glass. pronotum blood red, without a groove with two yellow dot pits and many round black spots on the disk; the breast lobes bear larger and black spots on the edge. Yellow-brown scales with individual, small, roundish, black spots on the disk. Elytra blood red, becoming lighter towards the apical part with many
pustules and black spots, which in the apical part and in front
are more common in the root third. Wings hyaline with yellow
nerves, the basal area is milky white and the apical area is gran
clouded. Dorsal segments of abdomen black with yellow
common hind edges; the ventral segments black with yellow
Back margins and sides shard yellow with black
points. Chest and legs shard yellow flecked with black.
Hind tibiae with four spines. anal lobes black; Schei
pads yellow-brown with black spot.
Length 42 mm, from the tip of the head process to the end of the abdomen 36 mm, of the head process 16 mm, span 53 mm.
