Téte jaune, avec trois bandes longitudinales noires,
deux latérales et une médiane; le prothorax présente éga-
lement deux bandes latérales qui ne correspondent pas
tout à fait avec celles de la tête, et la médiane, qui au sommet se bifurque, et va se réunir avec les latérales; le mésothorax offre deux taches jaunes sur un fond noir. Ailes. Les supérieures forment deux portions dis- tinctes, l'une axillaire d'un jaune clair, avec les nervu- res plus foncées, présente sept points ou taches noires, deux dans le premier intervalle et cinq autres plus petits dans la partie moyenne. La portion externe est bistre foncé et laisse à peine apercevoir les nervures.
Les ailes inférieures présentent également deux por- tions: la portion axillaire est transparente, incolore avec nervures noires; l'autre partie présente une large bor- dure prenant plus de la moitié de l'aile, et d'un bistre plus clair que la couleur des ailes supérieures.
Pattes jaunâtres, mêlées de brun; les portions articu- laires généralement jaunes (Mâle.).
