Fronte rugosa, obsolete callosa: ob- scure sanguinea, thorace supra nigro-maculato, abdomine laete croceo, segmentis basalibus supra atris, pedibus nigris: teg- minum dimidio basali pallide sanguineo, apicali ferrugineo, alis purpureis, nigro-maculatis, late fusco-cinetis. Long, corp.
14, exp. tegm. 47 mill. Patria: Nguělo (Afric. orient.) Bei gleicher Grüsse kurz- und breitflügeliger als An. nocemmaculata Distant. Kopf von gleicher Form und Skulp- tur, die Schwielen der Stirn fast verstrichen. Färbung des Kopfes und Thorax dunkeler blutroth, die neun schwarzen Flecke des letzteren von gleicher Anordnung, aber beträchtlich umfangreicher, so dass diejenigen des Mesonotum zusammen- fliessen. Metanotum und die vier ersten Hinterleibssegmente oberhalb ganz schwarz, die folgenden lebhaft orangefarben. Die ganze Brust nebst den Hüften korallenroth, die Beine da- gegen bis auf die blutrothe Oberseite der Hinterschenkel tief schwarz. Basalhälfte der Deckflügel blass blutroth, durch eire dunkeler rothe Mondbinde gegen das braune Spitzenfeld abgegrenzt. Der sich auf 3/5 der Länge erstreckende purpur- rothe Spiegel der Hinterflügel mit sechs grossen, zu einer Bogenlinie angeordneten Flecken und zwei Basalstriemen von tief schwarzer Färbung, ringsherum, d. h. einschliesslich des Analraumes breit rauchschwarz umsäumt.
