Fronte rugosa, distincte callosa: fulva, thorace unicolori, abdomine pedibusque fuscis, posticorum fe- moribus supra fulvis: tegminum dimidio basali viridi-olivaceo, area costali pallide testacea, fasco-punctata, alarum parte ba- sali miniacea, maculis 10 ad 12 nigris signata. Long, corp. 15-16, exp. togm, 48-51 mill. - Patria: Nguelo (Afric. - orient.).

Etwas kleiner als An. militaris, aber von übereinstim- mender Form und Farbenvertheilung. Kopf und Thorax von gleicher Skulptur, aber blasser, mehr gelbbraun; Hinterleib und Beine schwärzlich pechbraun, die Segmente des ersteren schmal scherbengelb gesäumt, die Oberseite der Hinterschenkel und die Basis der Hinterschienen licht rostfarben. Die Basal- hälfte des Costalraumes der Deckflügel nicht mennigroth, sondern blass, fast woisslich gelb mit mattbrauner Tüpfelung beider Ränder; Corium und Clavus lichter grün als bei An. militaris. Hinterflügel in gleicher Ausdehnung wie bei dieser, wiewohl lichter mennigroth, etwas zahlreicher schwarz ge-

fleckt. Der Spitzentheil beider Flügel intensiv erdbraun. Trotz der geringeren Grüsse und abweichenden Färbung vielleicht nur Varietät von An. militaris, was der Vergleich zahlreicherer Exemplare beider entscheiden muss.

Slightly smaller than An. militaris, but of the same form and color distribution. head and thorax of the same sculpture, but paler, more tawny; Abdomen and legs blackish pitch brown, segments of former narrowly lined with shard yellow, upper surface of hind thighs and base of hind tibiae light rust. The basal half of the costal space of the elytra is not mennigred, but pale, almost whitish yellow with dull brown stippling on both edges; Corium and clavus lighter green than in An. militaris. Hind wings in the same extent as in this one, although lighter mennigred, somewhat more numerous black

stains. The tip part of both wings intensely earth brown. In spite of the smaller size and different coloring perhaps only a variety of An. militaris, which the comparison of more numerous specimens of both must decide.
