El alcaraván común (Burhinus oedicnemus) es una especie de ave caradriforme de la familia Burhinidae. Es un ave migratoria de unos 40 cm de longitud. El nombre científico de la especie, oedicnemus, deriva del griego, "canillas hinchadas".
