Mulgaras are the two species in the genus Dasycercus. They are marsupial carnivores, closely related to the Tasmanian devil and the quolls, that live in deserts and spinifex bush of central Australia, and were thought extinct in New South Wales until December 2017, when they were found alive inside the borders of New South Wales.
