Adults (wingspan 60 - 90 mm) can be found from April to October taking nectar in the day and at dusk. The larvae feed on many plants including Rose and evening primrose families.
Two specimens are housed in the Park Museum, the first collected by J. G. and Alice Edwards on August 12, 1950, and the second by B. Lockwood at West Glacier on September 10, 1952.
