Summary ²

This is the most common fairy basslet in the Mediterranean which lives in swarms in front of caves and overhangs.

Related to the Pseudoanthias basslets,that are common and widespread in tropical areas.

Distribution ³

Mediterranean Sea, eastern Atlantic: Portugal and Namibia including Madeira, Canary Islands and the Azores.
