Fabaceae | partridge pea

Habitat: Dry soil at the edge of woods and in old fields.

Flowers: Small axillary clusters, petals 1/2" to 3/4" long, are nearly equal but the stamens are unequal.

Leaves: Pinnate leaves with linear-oblong leaflets.

Fruit: Narrow pod.
