Plant descriptions 2

Leaves and twigs pubescent or leaving clear traces of pubescence, with 1 - 3 pairs of pinnae; Pinnae with 4 - 8 pairs of leaflets; Leaflets 0.6 - 2(-2.5) cm broad, becoming whitish underneath when mature. Flowers pedicellate, pubescent on the outer surface; pods breaking into one-seeded articles; Stamens not longer than 15 mm, white or slightly yellow-green.

Similar species 2

A. tulearensis resembles A. mahalao . A. mahalao , which is densely white-pubescent, differs in its much smaller (up to 11.5 x 4 mm) and more numerous leaflets, and longer stamens (17 – 18 mm long).
