Pinnae with more than 22 pairs of leaflets; stipels absent. Leaflets apex obtuse; ovary glabrous.

E. louvelii is close to E. pervillei, but its leaflets are less acute apically, its flowers are sessile, and its ovary is glabrous. They also have somewhat different distributions, although they both occur in the Sambirano region and near the Bay of Antongil.
