Allen's big-eared bat (Idionycteris phyllotis) is a species of vesper bat. This bat is primarily insectivorous. It is known for it's large ears ranging from 34 to 43 mm in size. The typical body has a total length of 103 to 118 mm, tail length of 44 to 55 mm, and forearm length of 42 to 49 mm. Typical mass tends to be between 8 and 16 grams.

Wing span typically ranges from 302 to 344 mm. Males and females look very similar in size with females only tending to be about 5% larger on average.

Allen's big-eared bat (Idionycteris phyllotis) has a dental formula of i 2/3, c 1/1, p 2/3, m 3/3 and has a total of 36 teeth.

Allen's big-eared bat (Idionycteris phyllotis) can be found in Mexico and in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah in the United States. They are typically found in mountainous areas and in the vicinity of rocks.

Allen's big-eared bat cannot be found in Iron County, Utah. It can, however, be found in the most southern regions of Utah.
