California Myotis

Myotis californicus

Summary 3

Myotis Californicus is a species of vesper bat. They have small feet with a long tail and a short forearm. Their ears are large and may extend beyond their snout when they are laid forward. They are light brown in color and have black wings. This bat has a unique nose and ear structure as seen in the pictures above. They also have a lighter almost white underside and dark brown almost black face. They don't leave any sort of tracks that can actually be used to identify them since they mostly fly and land in trees. Their scat is about .2-.3 cm in diameter and .3-1.7 cm long. It is black and looks like a squished oval. This particular type of bat can be found in Iron county.
