Long-tailed Weasel

Mustela frenata

Summary 3

The long-tailed weasel (Mustela frenata), also known as the bridled weasel or big stoat is a species of mustelid distributed from southern Canada throughout all the United States and Mexico, southward through all of Central America and into northern South America. This species of weasel is the only weasel found in Utah, including Iron county. It's tracks are distinguishable from other rodents by the gait (shown above) and the difference in in size between it's own front and back paws and between other rodent paws.
