The Dusky Shrew like other shrews, has a pointed nose that you can see in the photo above. They are a rusty brown color dorsally and have a much lighter color on their underside that can also be seen in the picture. They grow to from about 3.7 to 4.7 inches in length with tails about 1.8 inches long. They are quite small and similar in size to and shape as a small mouse and weigh around 7 grams. They can be difficult to identify for other shrews as you must examine the teeth to properly differentiate them from other shrews.

These shrew can possibly be found in Iron county.
