Montane Vole

Microtus montanus

Summary 3

The montane vole is a medium sized vole with length differing between 14-22 cm long. Its belly has white fur, while the top is brown fur and fading to the flanks and bottom. If close enough you can see scent glands around the anus and male genitalia. You can find the montane vole in Iron county.

Scat 4

I could not find a picture of scat for the montane vole. In text that describes vole scat it describes it as being .5 -. 2 x .1 cm for dimensions.

Tracks 4

It is very hard to find vole tracks, but you can see evidence of them from these burrows that they make. If you do come a cross a track near these that are roughly .7 x .7 cm it is most likely a vole track.
