Descriptions 3

Tree up to 25 m tall, primary branches regularly distributed, mainly horizontal, bark reddish grey and smooth. Leaves 9 - 11 foliolate,rarely 6, margin leaflet entire. Flowers emerging when leafless, with petals white, yellowing with age. Fruits ussually oblong, pericarp dense reddish brown.
Phenology: flowering in May to August, ripe fruit in November and December.

Ecology 4

A large tree collected from five locations distributed between Lac Ihotry, near Morombe, and Bereboka, north of Morondava.

Similar species 4

Similar to A. rubrostipa in the South Western Region but its leaves are denticulate.
