The Fragile Forktail (Ischnura posita) is a species of damselfly in the genus Ischnura. It is 21 to 29 mm long. It is native to most all of eastern North America.

Habitat and Ecology

The species is found in ponds, lake shores, swamps, ditches, and slow streams with abundant herbaceous vegetation, including spring-fed pools. Often seen in dense grass or sedge beds like other Ischnura species but also common in other herbaceous plant beds in shady wooded situations.
