The species is present in numerous protected areas but entire watersheds are not protected; no further conservation measures are apparently required.

Habitat and Ecology
The species frequents mud- and sand-bottomed rivers in forested regions; occasionally streams or lakes. Adults spend much time in forest canopy, so best surveyed by larvae and exuviae.
