The Frosted Elfin (Callophrys irus) is a species of Lycaenidae that is native to North America.

Callophrys irus is resident in the eastern United States, and in a smaller, distinct population in Texas and Louisiana (Scott 1986). Habitats are southern to transition zone open second-growth woods and scrub. Host plants are usually herbaceous or shrubs and include many species but limited to one family, Leguminosae. Eggs are laid on the host plant flowers singly. Individuals overwinter as pupae in litter. There is one flight each year with the approximate flight time Mar15-May30 in the northern part of the range and Mar15-Apr30 in the southern part of their range (Scott 1986).
