Adult characteristics 3

Adult specimens can reach 327mm (13in) in total length. Prominent costal grooves can be seen on the sides of the animal. The skin is patterned with olive to yellow bars or blotches and has a smooth texture. Eyes are small and protruding and the head is broad and rounded. Tubercles can be found on the hind feet.

Egg characteristics 3

Tiger Salamander eggs can be laid singly or in clumps, they are usually attached to vegetation and hatch within 2 to 4 weeks.

Larvae characteristics 3

Characterized by long, feathery external gills, the larval stage can last from 10 weeks to 2 years. In the larval stage, the forelimbs develop first, the hind limbs develop second.
