Woodhouse's Toad

Anaxyrus woodhousii

Adult characteristics 4

Woodhouse's Toad grows to a size of 125mm (5in). L-shaped cranial crests above each eye are present. The skin is dry and warty with elongated parotoid glands. Pupils are horizontal and two horned tubercles can be found on each hind foot.

Egg characteristics 4

Eggs are laid in long strings made of a clear membrane and numerous black spheres.

Tadpole characteristics 4

Tadpoles are small and dark in color with a wide body and slim tail.
