White and Sulphur Butterflies

Summary 2

The Pieridae family of butterflies include over 1,000 species and 76 genera worldwide. Most species are yellow, white or orange often with black spots. The radial vein on the fore wing contains 3 or 4, but rarely 5, branches. Both sexes have well developed fore legs and the claws are split.

The Glacier National Park Museum houses 88 specimens representing 16 different species of pieridae.
