Arctic Skippers (wingspan: 29 - 31 mm) may be found in southern Canada and northern United States, as well as in Europe and Asia, near damp woodlands, forest openings, and stream sides. Adults fly from May to July. It is reported that they are attracted to blue woodland flowers. Caterpillars feed on grasses. The Chequered Skipper or Arctic Skipper (Carterocephalus palaemon) is a butterfly of the Hesperiidae family.
