Summary ²

The Garita (or Western) Skipperling (wingspan 20 - 25 mm) ranges from Southeastern Manitoba to British Columbia, and south to Northern Mexico. Larvae feed on a variety of grasses and the fourth stage caterpillars hibernate. Adults fly from mid-June through July, feeding on flower nectar in a wide variety of open areas.
