Summary ²

The Anicia Checkerspot (wingspan 28 - 47 mm) ranges between the Cascades and Great Plains from Alaska to Mexico. Preferred habitat includes alpine tundra and ridges, pine forests, mountain meadows and aspen grasslands. Caterpillars often deforest plants, leaving webs.
