Weidemeyer’s Admiral (wingspan 57 - 95 mm) is native to the Rocky Mountains and adjacent lowlands to the east. It prefers riparian areas, next to water courses, particularly those lined with cottonwoods or willows which host caterpillars. Adults fly from June to September, feeding on flower nectar, tree sap, and carrion.
