The Pale Swallowtail (wingspan 64 - 95 mm) can be found from British Columbia and Montana in the North, south to New Mexico and California. They survive in a variety of habitats including foothills, open woodlands, and stream sides from the mountain valleys to the tree line. Caterpillars feed upon deciduous trees and shrubs. Adults fly from April to July.
