Summary 2

Glover’s Silkmoth (a subspecies of Columbia Silkmoth) can be found from Canada to Mexico along the east and west slopes of the Rocky Mountains, intermountain region, and great plains. They prefer alpine and riparian habitats. After overwintering as pupa, adults emerge in the spring or early summer, seeking mates usually in predawn hours. The large, nocturnal adults, with a wingspan of 80 - 100 mm, can be found near trees and shrubs including Rosaceae, willows and larch. Larvae feed on a variety of trees and shrubs including willow, chokecherry, rose, buffaloberry and bitter brush.
