Cerisy’s Sphinx Moth can be found throughout Canada and the northern United States extending to Tennessee and Missouri in the East and California to Northern New Mexico in the West. It can be found in riparian and forest habitats, at low and mid elevations, near larvae food plants which include aspen, pear, plum, poplar willow, and cottonwood. In most of its range, the nocturnal adults (wingspan 62 - 90 mm), produce one generation per year, flying from May to August. The short lived adults do not feed.
