Details 3

Description: white band across tail feathers, yellow belly with black streaks, gray head. Male has a black mask and back with white streaks in the wing. 5” head to tail.

Found in park: seen in Cades Cove

Habitat: low conifers, shrubs, and second growth forests

Status: more common in fall migration than spring.
