The grey foam-nest tree frog or southern foam-nest tree frog (Chiromantis xerampelina) is a species of frog in the Rhacophoridae family. It is found in Angola, Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, and possibly the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Somalia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, dry savanna, moist savanna, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, subtropical or tropical dry lowland...

Range description 6

This species ranges from coastal Kenya south to northern KwaZulu Natal in South Africa, and inland as far west as eastern Botswana and west-central Angola. It is present on the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania. It might occur in extreme southern Democratic Republic of the Congo and extreme southern Somalia, but apparently has not been recorded yet been recorded in these countries. (However, the species' distribution on the map does extend slightly into the Democratic Republic of the Congo.) It occurs up to 1,000 m asl.
