Leptotyphlops scutifrons, or Peter's thread snake, is a species of snake in the Leptotyphlopidae family.

Continent: Africa
Distribution: S Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Republic of South Africa, Swaziland, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya  merkeri: SC-Kenya, E Tanzania.
Type locality: Moshi, base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania (03°12’S, 37°22’E, 810 m). Elevation: 0-1500 m.  scutifrons: S Tanzania south to Natal, west to Angola and Namibia.
Type locality: “Sena” [Mozambique], “Benguella (Westafrika)” [Angola]
