Lycophidion variegatum, also known as the variegated wolf snake, is a small nocturnal snake in the family Lamprophiidae which actively hunts lizards in small crevices. It lives in southern Africa.

Distribution: Zimbabwe, Republic of South Africa (N Zululand through Transvaal, Swaziland), Botswana, Zambia  
Type locality: Chitora River, 40 km south of Umtali, Rhodesia, ca. 920 m elevation.
