● Feeding on bare ground and roadside near the entrance and access road
● Flying from ground to mid-story trees or edges of the shrubland
● Perched on wires and snags in shrubland

● Similar to Peaceful Doves and Barred Doves of Australia and New Guinea
● Imported to Hawaii in 1922 from Singapore (Bryan, 1958)
● Caged bird in Southeast Asia and treasured for their lyrical calls in the morning
● Most abundant bird in Hawaii
